A Peg Solitaire Puzzle

The Davis Jump Solitaire Puzzle

The elegant solution to this puzzle is named in honor of its discoverer, Harry O. Davis. The vertical line cell is empty at the beginning, and the last remaining peg must occupy it at the end. For many years the best example known of such a transformation from a single-vacancy position to a single-peg position consisted of 16 moves. However, the Davis jump has only 15, including six chain jumps.
